    Job overview

We are looking to recruit Senior Trust Doctors (Clinical Fellows, ST4+ equivalent in Emergency Medicine) to join our enthusiastic and expanding Emergency Medicine team at Homerton University Hospital.

    Main duties of the job

We are keen to support non-trainee doctors to progress their Emergency Medicine careers by offering quality training opportunities and exam preparation. We endeavour to do this with the development of internal training programmes including inter-specialty rotations. This will ensure doctors gain the skills and competencies required to advance in the Emergency Medicine field.

    Working for our organisation

Homerton Healthcare Emergency Department is an inner city unit that saw over 129,000 patients in 2019/20. We were proud to be given a rating of 'outstanding' for the Emergency Department from the CQC, including the following comments "The staff we spoke with were proud to work for the A&E department and felt there was a 'can do' attitude within the team. There were processes in place to monitor the quality of the service and respond to areas highlighted as requiring improvement.

We saw that learning was shared among the staff team regarding never events, incidents and complaints within the department and across the hospital. Staff were encouraged and enabled to attend training courses and further their skills and knowledge to improve the service provided to patients." The department is a trauma unit and was the designated hospital for receiving athletes from the 2012 Olympic Games.
