About Us

  • We are now recruiting for a Collections Services Project Supervisor on a fixed term contract until December 2025. You will work 35 hours per week based at The National Collections Centre (NCC) in Wroughton, Swindon.


The NCC is a collections management facility housing a vast range of objects from microscope slides to railway carriages, other objects are stored in repurposed aircraft hangars, sustainable hempcrete constructed buildings and other facilities dispersed across the park.


About the role

  • As a Collection Services Project Supervisor and with support from the Collections Services Project Managers, you will line manage a team of Collections Project Officers and supervise the delivery of the packages of work that make up the NCC Collections Consolidation Programme. The programme will inventory collections, resolve hazard issues, vacate hangars and fill a new collections store.


You will be responsible for the personal development of the Collections Project Officers, as well as taking on responsibility for the daily operations of the team.

You will organise and manage the teams daily work in accordance with the work programme.


In this role you will ensure that tasks are carried out in a safe and secure manner to comply with current legislation and following best professional practice.

You will ensure that your team is working safely themselves and with other colleagues.

You will also support the activity of the Collections Services Project Manager, helping to monitor progress against project milestones and KPIs.


About you


Crucially, you will be a good communicator with the ability to work well with others to deliver projects and meet deadlines.

You will have the skills and knowledge required to manage staff effectively.
