    Description
    Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
    Jacobs Nuclear provides the front-end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio.

    Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world.

    The role of the PPP is to help to deliver a programme of nationally significant major infrastructure projects to the Sellafield site as quickly and safely as possible, creating new facilities that allow Sellafield to treat, manage and store waste safely for decades to come.

    Together, we are helping Sellafield to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

    As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington.

    Planning and co-ordinating engineering and design activities
    Developing and implementing engineering solutions for complex engineering projects, from concept design proposals through to design for manufacture, the full project life cycle
    Identifying design, statutory and regulatory requirements, and contributing to risk assessments
    Presenting engineering solutions to stakeholders and as part of design reviews
    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience) in engineering discipline
    Experience of crane/ lifting equipment design
