We are looking for an experienced Permanency Lead for Medway Council.

Payrate:
Up to £47 per hour

Key duties of the role include:

  • The role of the Permanency Lead is to embed consistent and positive practice for children where permanency needs to be achieved. This is an essential role to secure good outcomes for children this role will be responsible for driving good practice and quality assurance in this area.
  • To work with team managers, Social Workers, legal colleagues and agencies to drive improvement through quality assuring, monitoring, measuring permanency to gain a view of whole system effectiveness
  • You will work directly with social workers and teams in Children's Services to improve the quality of permanency through developing an understanding of the importance of permanency planning for children, and in maintaining and championing expertise in this area of social work practice.
  • To work with colleagues to contribute to service plan objectives/targets.
  • To participate in onetoone Performance Development Reviews and contribute to the identification of own and team development needs.
  • To actively promote the Councils Fair Access, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
  • To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Councils Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
  • To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 of the duty of Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.

Skill/Qualification:

  • Must have significant permanency experience
  • Full UK driving license plus access to a vehicle
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching and/or mentoring social workers at an advanced level.
  • Demonstrable post qualification experience of working with children and their families
