    The Opportunity

    We have a great opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join our Procurement team with responsibility for Facilities Services category, which encompasses both hard and soft facilities management, PPE, stationery, rent and rates.

    You'll be working in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the proactive and effective end-to-end management of all procurement requirements for the UK.

    It's important that you have the flexibility to travel as you'll need to attend collaborative meetings in the Bardon Hill, Coalville office and be out with suppliers 2-3 days a week.

    As a category manager you will understand that supplier requests come to you and that you will have to proactively approach the market to source suitable suppliers using your analytical skills and creating project plans based on spend.

    It's a very demanding role, so having strong organisational skills is critical to your success as you will be managing multiple tasks at any given time. The perfect candidate will have category management experience in heavy mobile plant equipment, but we are happy to consider anyone with a proven track record in a similar role.

    Who are you?

    • You will be experienced in managing tendering, contracts and negotiation strategy, in line with functional and business objectives.
    • You can demonstrate achieving strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
    • You are confident in working with end-users and relevant functional departments to develop specifications, statements of work, performance metrics, tender documentation and drafting appropriate contract terms & conditions.
    • You are experienced in managing the tender/supplier selection/contract award and implementation process ensuring effective communication is maintained throughout.
    • You can create added value (performance & savings) annual activity plans that support the attainment of department/business objectives.
    • You can ensure that department and individual performance targets are achieved through the maintenance of monthly progress reports.
    • You conduct regular risk assessments for all Procurement managed categories.
    • You can fully populate all key Procurement databases and information registers, ensuring that key information is maintained and kept up-to-date at all times.
    • You ensure formally planned regular review meetings with end-users, stakeholders and suppliers take place.
    • You can provide supply chain management to ensure Purchase to pay KPI's are achieved.
