    Job summary

    Rainbows Hospice is currently seeking a Band 4 Nurse Associate to join our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team, providing 1-2-1 care for babies, children and young people who have a range of complex needs including long term ventilation of either a tracheostomy tube (invasive) or via a face mask/nasal cannula (non-invasive). As part of the LTV and Step-Down Team, you will have the opportunity to work within the multidisciplinary team made up of a variety of skilled members including Music Therapists, Complementary Therapists, and our non-medical workforce team of ACPs.Rainbows Hospice is available for families all year, 24 hours a day, we therefore operate on a shift basis to provide the best possible service.

    Main duties of the job

    About the roleTo provide a high standard of nursing care in our small step-down team within Rainbows Hospice environment, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.You will be responsible for (but not limited to): Under direct supervision, manage the care of children and young people (aged 0-25yrs), as part of the small LTV & step-down team. Ensuring families have every opportunity to become empowered in all elements of their child or young persons care.Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, participate in the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of children and young people in partnership with them and their families.     Requirements:As a Nurse Associate, youll need to be qualified with a Nursing Associate degree qualification with 1 year post-registration experience in a relevant setting. You will have the ability to deliver patient centered care and ideally have the experience of working with babies, children and/or young people with complex care needs. Long-term ventilation experience is desirable; however, specialist training and development opportunities will be provided. Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care are essential. Further requirements can be found by downloading the Person Specification.
