    Our client, one of the world's largest insurers is looking for a civil engineer or construction professional who wants to embark on a new and well rewarded career in their industry. They are a leading insurer of high value global civil engineering and construction projects. You will apply your industry knowledge in your role as a construction underwriter and receive training and support to enable you to transfer your skills.

    You will work closely with brokers, and your risk engineering colleagues, who are also former engineering and construction professionals. You will play a key role in assessing risk, pricing, managing the existing client portfolio and in securing new business. Occasional international travel will be required.

    Your Profile: You should have at least six years construction or consulting engineering experience, this should ideally have included some exposure to heavy civil engineering or industrial projects. A good academic background is required, with a 2:1 degree, or above, in civil engineering, structural engineering or construction. Chartered status is advantageous but not essential. The position requires a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, plus critical thinking ability.
