    Job Description:
    As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will assemble and test new Control products, including Hydraulic and Grease Control modules, pressure test units, and accessories. You will use hand tools safely, including tube bending equipment, and support the assembly of NOV ISE products through innovative techniques and problem-solving. You'll assist colleagues, report health and safety issues, and follow all risk assessments and safety initiatives. High-quality, on-time work is essential.     Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assemble Equipment: Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications to accurately assemble hydraulic systems and other products.
  • Engage with Engineering: Collaborate with the engineering department on technical changes, part availability issues, and problem-solving.
  • Mentor and Train: Mentor new employees and provide hands-on training in tube bending and other essential skills.
  • Supervise Shopfloor Staff: Lead and supervise shopfloor staff, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Quality and Inspection: Adhere to inspection criteria, policies, and procedures; detect and report defects or faults in materials, products, or equipment.
  • Maintain Production Standards: Monitor and control materials, products, or equipment to maintain quality and quantity of production.
  • Follow Instructions: Carry out work instructions as given by the Cell leader, including work specifications and equipment operation.
  • Maintain Workspace: Maintain an organized and visual workspace, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to 5S principles.
  • Support Initiatives: Support key initiatives such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, cost of quality, and improvement ideas.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all procedures and paperwork are completed accurately and kept up to date; report quality-related issues and process improvements to the Cell leader.
  • Core Skills & Experience Required:

  • Technical Understanding: Ability to understand, evaluate, and apply technical information, including reading engineering drawings and schematics and ETS.
  • Hands-On Experience: Time-served apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant subject. Previous work in a manufacturing environment with experience in assembling components, particularly small-bore nonferrous tube bending and well control and pressure testing equipment.
  • Use of Tools: Proficient in using basic hand and power tools, including tube bending equipment and maintaining equipment.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in general MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify critical information, respond appropriately, and generate effective solutions and suggestions.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards and supporting quality assurance procedures.
  • Safety Consciousness: Adherence to health and safety policies, reporting safety hazards, and stopping unsafe operations.
  • Nice to have:

  • Leadership Skills: Confident personality with a willingness to train others and lead shopfloor staff without direct organizational reports.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Knowledge: Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, including autoclave threading and coning of high-pressure tubing (training can be provided).
  • Soft Skills: Strong sense of customer focus, ethical principles, and collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills.
