Description
Priory is the leading independent provider of mental healthcare and adult social care in the UK.

This is a key role in assisting Priory to function in accordance with high standards of quality, safety and governance.

The role of Senior Investigations Officer primarily involves undertaking investigations into patient safety incidents, which give rise to significant concern.

The post holder will assist in ensuring that:

  • Investigations are undertaken in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Wherever possible any lessons learnt from such investigations are shared across Priory to reduce the likelihood of further similar incidents.
  • Priory operates in a candid and transparent manner with the post holder liaising with external parties for example family, regulators, Coroners and safeguarding boards as required.
  • Priory embeds PSIRF effectively by assisting in training delivery and supervising sitebased colleagues who are undertaking investigations of their own.
There is a requirement for the post holder to have a high standard of written and verbal communication and an attention to detail given the need to ensure clarity and certainty when undertaking investigations (e.g. interviewing colleagues), preparing reports and giving feedback to services and, where necessary, presenting evidence at Inquest.

Working Environment:

The role is remote, with national coverage.

Travel is likely to be required nationally to sites and regional offices with prior notice and with occasional overnight stays.

Generally operating within a pleasant and stable working environment but the complexity and nature of the situations faced within the business may, at times, be outside the 'norms' of a standard role and some individuals may find them emotionally challenging.

The post holder will occasionally be dealing with complaints and dissatisfaction, which requires emotional resilience.
