    Description

    Your challenge:

    Reporting to the Vice President Organizational Development, the Human Resource Consultant will provide guidance, direction, coaching and support to assigned business partners within North America, primarily located within our Halifax locations.

  • Proactively work to resolve human resources issues.
  • Recruit for engineering roles, trades positions and other positions using proactive and innovative strategies to attract talented candidates, conduct interviews, complete reference checks and make employment offers.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding.
  • Coach, advise and mentor leaders on HR matters.
  • Provide timely and accurate HR services to support assigned business partners in matters such as workforce planning and recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, benefits management, annual salary review processes.
  • Participate in global HR projects and execute and support HR initiatives at site level.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and up to date employee files.
  • In collaboration with the local Health & Safety Team, manage the work accident claims process and ensure appropriate follow up.
  • Participate in the organization of employee engagement initiatives ( holiday parties, social events, employee engagement surveys, etc.).
  • Support the VP Organizational Development with the company annual marketing strategy including trade shows coordination, advertisement, white papers, website, etc.

  • You have a post-secondary education with an emphasis on Human Resource Management,
  • 3 years' experience working as an HR professional with demonstrated experience in a broad range of HR functions.
  • You have experience working in partnership with key stakeholders through the full recruitment process.
  • You consider yourself a brand ambassador, have hands on experience recruiting candidates, promoting the employment brand and enjoy using technology to help drive efficiencies and measure success.
  • Driven to exceed client expectations, you are capable of developing positive and professional working relationships and take pride in your work.
  • You have the ability to work independently, be organized and have the skill set to manage multiple priorities.
