    Overview of Role:

    We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Credit Risk Underwriter to become a key player in our finance team. This full-time opportunity comes with a competitive salary, generous equity options, and the flexibility to work from the Isle of Man (remote or hybrid) or London (hybrid with WeWork All Access). You'll be the full-cycle lead across underwriting our customers' creditworthiness at onboarding, to assessing each invoice we consider financing, and you'll be a key player in developing our overall credit risk strategy. You'll work closely with the CEO, CFO, and collections manager.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Execute precise and efficient underwriting decisions for invoice finance deals, aligning with our commercial and risk management goals.
    • Assess and make timely underwriting decisions within set authority levels and provide well-considered recommendations to senior management as necessary.
    • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to evaluate all relevant financial and non-financial factors for informed decision-making.
    • Carry out comprehensive due diligence, including checks with credit reference agencies, relevant bureaus, and external sources, to support risk assessments. You'll be supported with leading risk analysis technology to make these tasks very efficient.
    • Keep abreast of market trends affecting our customer base to help us maintain a competitive edge.
    • Assist in internal audit processes to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
    • Assist in the collections process where necessary to maintain our credit risk appetite.

    Your Background:

    Essential:

    • Proven experience in invoice finance underwriting, demonstrating a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this sector.
    • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis, specifically relating to SMEs and corporates.
    • Experience managing significant balances as part of your underwriting portfolio.

    Non-essential:

    • Have experience within financial services environment of credit approval and management across a broad range of finance products particularly Invoice Finance.
    • A background in underwriting both Soft & Hard Assets is beneficial but not mandatory.
    • Background in credit risk for SMB lending is beneficial for future products.

    • Interested in helping shape our product by working with our product and engineering team to provide feedback and suggestions for our customers and our own internal tools.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Able to synthesise data and provide both detailed and executive analysis.
    • A team player with a proactive attitude, eager to contribute to a growing business in a meaningful way.
