Introduction:

BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,400 people in the UK.

BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.


In order to provide continued support to the customer, we are looking for a Chinook Operations Training Specialist to join the Operations team and coordinate both internal and external training requirements for our Chinook maintenance personnel.


Reporting directly to the Chinook Operations Support Manager, the role will be based at Middle Wallop but will include supporting the training requirements of BDUK personnel at RAF Odiham and Boscombe Down.

The role has two fundamental aspects, both of which are as important as each other.

The first is to manage and maintain the wide range of authorisations and training qualifications held by maintenance personnel on behalf of Operations, and to arrange the necessary training with the relevant internal or external provider to ensure personnel remain compliant.

The second is to deliver a range of on-the-job training packages encompassing aircraft specific training and wider site-specific training.

Responsibilities:


Examples of key tasks include**:

  • Proactively manage the maintenance authorisations for Chinook Operations Personnel; arranging training and calling forward individuals to ensure individual authorisations remain extant.
  • Arrange and coordinate external training providers when required.
  • Be competent to deliver with the assistance of the Chinook Training Team, the required courses when required by the operations team.

Work Authorisation:

Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.


Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.


Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in delivering aircraft maintenance training, Chinook experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills that provide the ability to engage effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively and proactively manage their own workload.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
