Head of Housing Services (South & East)

About the Role and Person

  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent
This role will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the regional housing services function.

The core focus will be to ensure the continuous drive for high performance and delivering the Housing Services operating model within or exceeding company targets; this will include Income Management, Tenancy Management, Complaints, Customer Services, Antisocial Behaviour and Property Allocations.


Whilst we have key responsibilities and these can be found in the job description, there are certain things we will need from you:

  • Management and/or Housing qualification or other relevant Level 5 qualification/willingness to work towards this
  • A proven track record of delivering excellence through successfully leading a service area and/or a multidisciplinary team, achieving tangible results and customer focussed services through equality and diversity
  • Experience of managing one or more of the core Housing Service areas of the role
  • Experience of effectively performance managing a diverse workforce & responding to diverse communities
  • Willingness to commit to and driving forward personal development Experience of effective budget management and delivering cost reductions whilst assessing risks and improving services
  • Experience of partnership working both internally and externally and balancing managerial and political leadership.
  • Demonstrating ability to quickly establish trust and credibility in a coregulation context.
  • Understanding of appropriate professional standards and what best practice looks like.
  • Experience of managing conflicting and competing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrating resilience, energy and organisational abilities to retain management performance on track during periods of uncertainty and change
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use with the willingness and availability to travel

Location
This role will be based at either South & East of the country.


If successful in East the base will be Peterborough (no regional uplift) but if successful in the South the base will be Camberley (+ 8% regional uplift).

The role will be expected to travel and cover both regions.

We're a keen promoter of agile working and encourage the use of working from home, as long as we meet our customer's needs.


We'll provide you with the equipment and software that you'll need for the purpose of your role however it will be your responsibility to have an appropriate space to work from as well as a suitable broadband connection/provider.


Salary


The spot salary for this post is £60,761 per annum(plus 8% if residing in the South)for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post.

Applicants, who do not meet all of the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

This post will also receive a car allowance of £1,250 per annum.
