HancoxRead Recruitment are looking for a Chef - Grade 2 working in the Birmingham area which is ongoing into 2023.


JOB PURPOSE
To support The Head Chef and Second Chef within the Care Centre by ensuring that catering services of the highest quality are provided to residents and other users including a daily restaurant service; delivering high customer satisfaction on a consistentbasis over 7 days


To support the development of menus to meet National Nutritional Standards that respond to individual choices, needs and promotes well-being.

Ensuring that meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the needs of service users.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To prepare, cook and present food that is nutritionally balanced, and which meets the needs of the service users and other users of the centre
  • To ensure that there are safe working practices in place in line with agreed systems of work.
  • To ensure that the use of chemicals is in compliance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.
  • To ensure that safe systems to control and minimise infection are in place and working effectively.
  • To adhere to Food Hygiene Regulations and food safety risks that have been assessed in line with HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points)
  • To adhere to Risk Assessments that are in place to ensure that safe systems of work is complied with and signed for to confirm your understanding.
  • To ensure that cleaning schedules are completed within expected timescales and records maintained.
  • Contributing to service meetings and supporting the Head Chef to deliver their vision for the service.
  • To contribute to the overall health and safety plan of the centre as well as ensuring that the catering service is operating in adherence to the relevant policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that you undertake regular training to develop your knowledge and personal development including mandatory training such as Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Manual Handling.

Special Requirement:
Enhanced DBS - With Adult's & Children's Barred List


Working hours:


Full time - Commitment to a varied rota which includes working days, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays in accordance with service needs.


Salary:

£14.21 per hour.
