Executive Network Group are leading an exclusive search to appoint a Sustainable Development Impact Adviser to join our client who have a huge focus on ESG.

This is a newly created role that is responsible for driving and demonstrating the highest sustainabledevelopment impact in the Groups investments.

Under the overall guidance of the Senior Manager, the primary purpose of the role is:

  • To support and progressively take responsibility for elements of Groups sustainable development impact evaluation, research and learning activities and
  • To provide quality support to the implementation of Group impact management systems across the Group, both supporting impact specialists working directly with investment teams and as part of the central quality assurance mechanisms.
Evaluation, research and learning

  • Supporting the delivery of key evaluation and learning workstreams under the group learning strategy, including but not limited to project evaluations, lessons learning products, economic impact assessments, enduser surveys, thematic reviews and reportingagainst the learning strategy;
  • Contributing to a suite of learning engagements to ensure findings and knowledge generated is suitably communicated and used to inform continuous improvement. This includes through Group Institute workshops, methods and systems improvements, knowledge sharingand outreach products;
  • Analytical and research support to impact management system including on initiatives related to Strategy, market and thematic studies, servicing external evaluations and Owner requests;
Sustainable Development Impact review of prospective investments

  • Provide quality input to the regular ex ante review of prospective deals to impact specialists across the Group as part of Group Sustainable Development Impact review and endorsement process.
  • Conduct analysis and research on specific investments or themes (e.g., Gender Equality Assessments) to support or quality assure impact claims and draft summary assessments in agreed formats.
  • Support impact specialists across the Group implement recommendations and monitoring requirements from the Sustainable Development Impact review process.
Contribution to Group Impact team

  • Contribute to continuous development of impact management systems and integration with Health Safety Environmental and Social (HSES), Risk and Finance.
  • Contribute to the overall work of the Sustainable Development Impact team and network across Group.

Qualifications and education requirements:


  • Degree in a relevant economics, finance, statistics, social science, international development discipline
  • Relevant certification in quantitative data analysis and presentation desirable

Skills and Experience:


  • Demonstrable work experience in a relevant field, preferably within development finance institution, (impact) investment or management consultancy industry.
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience of research and quantitative analysis, ideally to assist evaluation or economic analysis related (country, sector or projectlevel) work.
  • Experience/understanding of impact management and achieving development outcomes through investments.
  • Experience of evaluation or related research methods, tools and approaches is desirable.
  • Work experience/knowledge related to climate, gender, nature/biodiversity or disability impacts of investments is desirable.
  • Demonstrable understanding of infrastructure investment and/or capital market development in emerging markets and developing economies is desirable.
  • Excellent reporting skills. Proficiency in the use of Excel, PowerPoint and managing datasets. Knowledge of data visualisation tools such Power BI would be desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and meet deadlines while working with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a virtual and international team environment.
