Job Description:

The Senior Planning Engineer manages the planning requirements of the project by leading a team of planning professionals and coordinating with the project team to ensure compliance with the contract schedule.

This role involves producing, analyzing, and updating project schedules, assessing progress, and recommending mitigating measures when necessary.

The Senior Planning Engineer will also play a key role in advising on town planning functions and responsibilities, managing subcontractor schedules, and participating in progress meetings.

Produce pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction, and completion schedules to depict project and contractual requirements in compliance with planning procedures.

Evaluate and analyze progress through updated status reports based on the contract schedule to provide performance assessment and accurate forecasts.

Coordinate and liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and authorities on planning and programming matters for various project interfaces.
Obtain and analyze progress updates from the planning team and conduct analysis of alternatives and schedule options.
Review and evaluate subcontractor schedules and reports, recommending necessary actions to align subcontracted items with the contract schedule.
Manage subcontractor schedules in line with the baseline/contract schedule and recommend necessary actions when slippage occurs.
Participate in progress and coordination meetings to discuss project status.

Advise the Project Director/Manager when delay events occur and produce an extension of time schedule in coordination with the commercial project team to support claims.

Guide and mentor the planning team to equip them to carry out the job independently.

Knowledge in Principles of Planning and Project Management.
Knowledge in Construction Law, Change Management, and principles and practices of research and data collection.
Familiarity with Planning practices and associated software such as Advanced Primavera6.
Strong cost control knowledge and expertise in preparation of EOT claims and delay analysis.
Familiarity with local and international standards in construction.
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are required for success in this role.
