Description

This is an essential role to ensure the governance and co-ordination of health and safety, risk and regulatory compliance across the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Whilst this will be a significant and varied role, you will be supported by safety officers embedded in the Schools across the Faculty, and a range of University specialist departments.

Your principle role will be to provide oversight and coordination to ensure the faculty discharges it safety and regulatory duties across its operations in accordance with University policy, legislation and our accredited management systems.

This role is an integral part of the Faculty Professional Services Team, you will be responsible for a varied workload, working with the Safety Advisors Office, Strategic Planning team on risk matters; FRCS on Business Continuity, Sustainability and Environmental Management; and other central Professional Services teams as required.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance and Operations, the role holder will work closely with colleagues with Health and Safety responsibilities across the Faculty.

You will have relevant experience in safety and regulatory management.

Being able to demonstrate where you have used this knowledge to put strategy into operation or co-ordinate governance systems in a large and complex organisation would be an advantage.

Much of the role will be working directly with a range of operational facing teams, so creating productive working relationships with a range of individuals is crucial to the success of the role.

You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience).
