    Bookmark Education are working with an independent school based in Luton who are looking for a passionate and dedicated Chemistry teacher to start in September 2024.

    This is a part-time position working 4 days per week (days are negotiable). Candidates should have previous experience of teaching to GCSE, with a proven track record of raising the quality of teaching and learning, whilst demonstrating excellent subject knowledge coupled with an ability to deliver inspirational lessons.

    Experience of teaching Physics would be an advantage but not essential.

    Overview:

    As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to educate and inspire students in the field of science. This position requires strong knowledge in various scientific disciplines, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.

    The successful applicant will work closely with the curriculum team to plan and deliver interesting and engaging lessons throughout both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Their main focus is that your students will have an excellent experience in your lessons. There is also a strong behaviour management ethos throughout the school in order to allow high levels of learning to take place.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards

    Teach students various scientific concepts and theories

    Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations to enhance understanding

    Provide individualized instruction and tutoring to students as needed

    Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects

    Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment

    Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere

    Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and learning

    Stay updated on advancements in scientific research and incorporate relevant information into lessons

    Experience:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

    -Bachelor's degree in Science or related field

    Previous experience teaching science at the middle or high school level

    Strong knowledge of scientific principles across multiple disciplines (e.g., chemistry, physics)

    Familiarity with special education strategies and behaviour management techniques

    Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    Ability to engage students in interactive learning activities

    Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to students is a plus

    Attention to detail for proofreading student work
