    Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester

    Ref: JB0922

I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support a mature lady with complex health needs living in her own home. You will be working as part of a small friendly team of PAs to assist me in my own home. I am paralysed from the neck down due to MS.

Assistance is required for five nights per week, to get me ready for and put into bed.

Use of a hoist is required, so experience in this would be preferred but training can be provided if required.

This may be an ideal job for someone who already works in the evening care sector as an additional call to what they already do, or someone who is looking to get a start into the private care sector.

I need support with all aspects of daily living including personal care, meal preparation and feeding, drinking and household duties. Confidence using a hoist is preferred and there are no formal qualifications for this role but a knowledge/experience of similar roles would be an advantage, as all relevant training will be provided.

It would be beneficial for future additional hours that may come available, that in addition to these skills I require someone with good written English skills, who is computer literate and able to perform administration tasks and if you have a full UK driving license and would be confident in driving an accessible vehicle.

Personal qualities and skills are also important within this role and the successful applicant must be:

  • Empathic understanding and patient
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
  • Enthusiastic and motivated
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Have a caring nature
  • Be Conscientious
  • Be Committed to the job
  • Be able to manage responsibility
  • Excellent time keeping
  • An enhanced DBS (Police check) will be required and the Employer will meet the cost.

This is a part time role for a minimum of 5 hours per week as follows:

Night time hours Monday – Friday 10.30 pm – 11.30 pm

With the option of covering additional hours for holidays/sickness if you are available.

    You will receive:

  • All relevant training
  • 6 weeks paid annual leave pro rata
  • A pension if eligible
  • £9.50 per hour
