Graduate Renewable Energy Chemical EngineerThis company Is looking for a Process Engineer Graduate to join an exciting Renewable Energy company, a huge producer of Biofuel in the UK.This role is to support the R&D, commissioning, operations, ongoing engineeringdevelopment and maintenance of the Compressed BioMethane (CBM) plants in Swindon(the Plant), and future designs and projects.
There must be a commitment to ensuringthat the plant and projects are created, maintained, and operated with the utmostattention to achieving the highest standards in performance, quality, health and safety,and environmental sustainability in line with IChemE's Code of Professional Conduct,with a personal goal to become a Chartered Engineer.
These requirements necessitate aflexible and adaptive working approach both to developing solutions to challenges andworking patterns.Responsibilities and accountabilities:
To take direction from your line manager as to the work needed and timelines required.
Undertake all required work activities (including design, assessments, calculations, modeling, and development of reports/procedures/plans, etc.), ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed in a timely way to ensure that the project schedules are fully met.
Participate in (and where necessary lead) safety assessments and meetings (e.g.HAZOP and risk assessments) relating to plant modifications, additions etc.
Update and maintain accurate records, including audits, inspections, maintenance records, calibration records, operations data, turnaround data, documents and drawings relating to projects.
Collating and logging all information appropriately as agreed.Undertake necessary changes to the control system, making sure to capture all details and go through the management of change system.
Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments, and help develop these safe methods of work where they do not exist.
Actively seek and identify opportunities for improvement to plant operations and projects.Work effectively with the operations and maintenance teams to complete commissioning works.
Monitor and report personal and professional progress using IChemE's InitialContribute to (and where necessary lead) the engineering design, development and implementation of new and existing equipment, and comply with the needs of the change management process for the plant.
Ensure the working environment is safe and in a clean condition.Participate in activities, as required from time-to-time, that are not standard but assist in the development of the plant or the business.
What we are looking for:
Process/Chemical Engineering qualifications (Masters or above is desirable)Ability to take a leading role in and champion plant safety, e.g. HAZOPS, risk assessments, use of safety equipment, etc., and participate, where needed, in health and safety meetings.
Ability to develop and effectively apply models of the process to predict performance.
Work innovatively to provide solutions to particular challenges.
Willingness to undertake training to ensure safe operation of equipment (e.g. compressed gases, CoSHH, etc.).Familiarity with process and laboratory environments.
