Description

Identify opportunities for cost effective investment in waste minimisation and recycling schemes, producing, and presenting reports / papers to reflect this.

Attend waste management contract meetings with procurement and providing data and reports and provide feedback to relevant managers where and when necessary.

Responsible for ensuring close liaison and interfacing with the internal client, clinicians and external contractors when on site so that all aspects of the waste management function within the sites managed achieve the clinical requirements and enhance the patients well-being and recovery.

To provide operational support to the organisation on waste management.

This will include a hands on approach for implementation of new projects. To support the implementation of service level agreements for the services provided.

Encourage and develop a culture to ensure the highest levels of customer service are delivered by facilities staff promoting a professional and caring manner.

To assist with consultation with community and patient groups to ensure their views are incorporated into the delivery of facilities services.

Completion of necessary Trust, NHS, and statutory returns in relation to waste e.g., ERIC.

Have an understanding of relevant national standards and requirements as outlined by CQC, NCS and PLACE processes To ensure standard operating procedures and protocols are in place on sites managed as required and that compliance with these is monitored.

Support for organising and conducting pre acceptance waste audits, with competent company. Undertake ad hoc waste audits to ensure compliance.
