This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Operational Assets Team.

At Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) we operate and manage a large number of fleet, equipment, PPE and workwear assets to enable the effective and efficient delivery of varied services to the communities of Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

The role will provide critical support the equipment management function.

Working primarily within the busy equipment maintenance team, you'll coordinate the complete back-office function managing systems and processes to ensure the compliant recording, allocation and retention of data associated with all equipment maintenance activity and resilience vehicle fleet.


You'll directly support a team of mobile technicians and operatives to undertake maintenance activity on over 10,000 equipment assets and manage operational vehicles to provide frontline resilience.

Support will include ordering and invoicing for goods and services, stores and stock management, travel and accommodation arrangements, provision of service and inspection documentation, management of data within an asset management system, production of reports and data to support the life cycle management of equipment assets.

The role will provide day to day support to the equipment maintenance and compliance manager.

Duties will include the timely production of maintenance, stock and finance reports, support to departmental project work, support to procurement processes and exercises, maintenance of an internal SharePoint site, support to maintain a resilient operation including the repatriation of vehicles and equipment.

You should have demonstrated experience of building and maintaining strong relationships and communicating effectively across peers and colleagues.

You'll be the primary lead for an asset management system so the ability to work effectively within an asset database is essential.


You'll be positive about developing yourself and exploring new ways to ensure that our values and behaviours are embedded throughout HIWFRS.

This role is based at HIWFRS HQ in Eastleigh.

There'll also be a requirement to travel to Fire Stations within Hampshire and Isle of Wight and other venues as required.

The nature of supporting a fire and rescue service necessitates some flexibility to working hours, start and finish times. A flexible working procedure supports this requirement.
