    Description
    The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Southampton area. We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver (CAT C+E) to join the team.

    Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 13:00pm starts.

    Pay Rate: Days - £13.03, rising to £13.68 after 12 weeks / Nights - £14.92, rising to £15.45 after 12 weeks.

    Location: Southampton, SO16.

    Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

    The role:
    • Operate Class 1 vehicles to move trailers and containers within the yard.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of equipment.
    • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations at all times.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard.
    • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.

    Requirements:
    • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
    • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
    • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
    • A minimum of 1-year proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
    • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
    • Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
    • Excellent communication skills.
