Job summary:

This role would be supporting 2 major government Programmes. One of which is Grenfell Site & Programme and the other is the Remediation Programme.

In August 2018, DLUHC announced its intention for Government to take responsibility for the Grenfell Tower site which was transferred from the local Council in July 2019.

The Government has been clear that the bereaved, survivors and community will determine a fitting memorial that recognises the tragedy and honours those who lost their lives.

In the interim, Government is responsible for operational decisions on the safety and security of the Tower.

The priority of the programme is to work towards delivering the vision of the Grenfell Memorial Commission for a lasting memorial on the site of the Tower.

In response to the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire, the Government established the Building Safety Programme (BSP) to make sure buildings are safe - and people feel safe - now and in the future.

The Building Remediation Programme sits within the Safer, Greener Buildings portfolio and is one of the government's major programmes, key to addressing safety concerns on high rise buildings.

The Government has made over £5bn of funding available to building owners to enable them to undertake remediation of unsafe cladding on high rise buildings.
