    Product Development Manager
    Based in Hampshire

    Client Overview:
    A major supplier to the European automotive and appliance markets, their name is synonymous with expertise in chemically coupled glass fibre polypropylene.
    Role Overview:
    The management and development of polypropylene products
    Responsibilities:

    • Develop new materials and processes to meet market requirements and ensure technical and commercial competitiveness. Support trials for production scale-up of new products.
    • Support the production department in optimising the compounding process to maximise manufacturing efficiency, product quality and performance whilst minimising waste.
    • Provide technical support to customers when required.
    • Provide technical support for the investigation of customer complaints.
    • Generate material data and provide technical presentations internally and externally.
    • Manage and interpret customer requirements and provide solutions to meet or exceed their needs.
    • Assist Purchasing department in the procurement of raw materials to optimise margin, product quality and product performance.
    • Contribute to advice on safe handling of raw materials and finished goods in compliance with health and safety requirements.
    • Provide product training to employees and customers.
    Candidate Profile:
    • Experience of working in a technical role within the plastics industry
    • Knowledge of injection moulding applications and of formulating compounds.
    • Able to demonstrate good technical knowledge combined with proven expertise in technical service.
    • Degree Educated
    • Good attention to detail, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and produce clear, concise reports.
