Job Description:


Working with in our Marketing Services division or Head of Custom Analytics will lead a team of 12-15 analysts who are responsible for the development of consumer and location insight analytical solutions and projects on behalf of our clients.

We operate across a wide variety of sectors including Retail, Leisure, Financial Services, Automotive, Utilities, Telco and not for profit.


Why this role is important to us


The Head of Custom Analytics will be directly accountable for leading, developing and driving forward our client facing analytical team.

They will play a pivotal role embedding a variety of data sources ranging from Experian proprietary data assets such as segmentations such as Mosaic and our UK Marketing Database alongside research and new dynamic sources such mobility and market transactional insight.


We have a team of talented analysts whom we are looking to develop further and grow our delivery efficiencies as well as build out innovative new analytics offerings working alongside our analytical consultants.

The Head of Custom Analytics will manage the longer term prioritisation of client facing analytical needs and opportunities by understanding market opportunities through client engagement.


Work that matters - What you'll be doing

  • Leadership of the team, setting clear expectations to support development opportunities for both the team and the business
  • Ownership of team strategy development leveraging a thorough understanding of the Marketing Services Vision and purpose, awareness of the competitor landscape and consumer marketing trends.
  • Act as a senior analytics stakeholder within our clients, the market and internal networks.
  • Overseeing the development of creative and productive solutions using a combination of data science tools in the areas of targeting, segmentation and location analytics.
  • Ensuring the quality of client deliverables from analytics to concise and impactful project overviews.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure we innovate to effectively deliver propositions which increase analytics productivity
  • Report regularly on performance, reliability, quality and timeliness of delivery taking appropriate action when agreed standards are not met.
  • Support our go to market teams contributing and providing guidance inputting to sales proposals and presentations relating to analytical solution projects.

Qualifications:


What you'll need to bring to the role & Experian

  • A track record of previous leadership experience working within an analytical environment
  • Demonstrable ability to provide clarity of communications to your team to drive performance and effectiveness.
  • Ideally experience within customer, market or location based projects using GIS, Tableau, R and Python.
  • Experience in a collaborative role with a natural ability to make strong and meaningful connections with others both in clients and internal peers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills presenting findings clearly, concisely, and confidently to senior clients and internal stakeholders.
  • High levels of business acumen and influence to drive forward commercial decision making

More about you

  • Degree or equivalent standard, with a high numeric content e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Economics, Physical Sciences.
  • At least 10 years experience working within an analytical position, preferably within a fastpaced business setting
  • Proven success in implementing analytical projects across a wide range of data sources to improve business performance
  • Demonstrable background in making functional improvements within previous roles
  • Ownership for business performance, with exceptional problemsolving skills, working comfortably in cross functional teams
