Community Transport Project Officer
Hours: 37 per week fixed term until 31st March extension to contract dependent on future funding)
Salary:
£27,919 FTE + 29 days holiday + bank holidays
Base:
Spalding / Boston / East Lindsey or Hybrid working arrangements to be discussed at interview.
- Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary service is looking for its first Community Transport Project Officer for a new and exciting project exploring the challenges the community transport sector faces in Lincolnshire._
Community Transport provides flexible, accessible and responsive solutions to meet local transport needs, and often represents the only means of transport for certain user groups.
Using transport solutions from mopeds to minibuses, voluntary car schemes, community bus services, school transport, hospital transport, dial-a-ride, wheels to work and group hire services.
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to improving transportation access and enhancing the quality of life for residents in the South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey who rely on alternative transportation options.
1. Drive focused outreach and development and work to raise awareness of community transport, and increase the usage of the service throughout South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey.
2. Enable stakeholders in Lincolnshire to understand transport related social exclusion, and to find solutions with partners to address the situation.

3. Identify all community transport schemes across South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey and their scope of service to ensure they continue to provide safe, legal and comfortable journeys.

4. Change the perception of community transport by evidencing CT is a key partner in the transport network.

5. Lead the development of a Lincolnshire community transport consortium that will have the structural power to bid for opportunities to grow the CT sector in Lincolnshire.

6. Support the collection of data and insight in the funded area to use a baseline to demonstrate the success of the project.
Job Purpose
- You will be responsible for promoting and developing the Community Transport Development project funded by UKSPF across South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey. You will be working closely with our funding partners South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey councils partnership (SELCP) to develop and nurture a range of partnerships that can support the future sustainability of community transport groups across Lincolnshire. _
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate the skills, enthusiasm and passion needed to fulfil the job requirements and enhance the support already provided by the existing community development team.
Person Specification:
- Experience of working in, or with, community groups or charities to strengthen their services and performance.
- Working with public sector bodies and supporting crosssector collaboration.
- Experience of different areas of organisational development activity such as governance, strategy development, funding / fundraising, volunteer management, stakeholder engagement, and/or partnership development.
- Gathering data / information from stakeholders and using this to contribute to the development of policy or services including data and trend analysis and management information skills.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the issues affecting people and communities that are disadvantaged by a lack of accessible and inclusive transport
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills.
- A demonstrable commitment to LCVS's values
- A strong commitment to, and understanding of the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Positive attitude to your own personal accountability for achieving agreed targets and outcomes
- A natural curiosity about ideas and demonstrating originality and resourcefulness in your approach
