    Fawkes and Reece are looking for an Assistant Planner to join a leading developers Planning and Design Team based in Hertfordshire. This company has got a real passion for heritage which is obvious from the first moment you step foot into the stunning buildings they've restored through exceptional design and build standards.

    The Role

    • To be a key member of the Planning & Design team, working closely with the Design & Planning Director, Senior Planning Manager and Planning Manager. You will be responsible for assisting on projects whilst providing guidance and advice where appropriate to other members of the team.
    • To assist in the delivery and continual improvement of the quality and effectiveness of our planning activities through guidance and focus in order to achieve or exceed the site values agreed within the Project Cost Plans and in order to achieve the Departmental and Corporate Objectives.
    • To maintain a good knowledge of existing and changes to planning and other legislation that affect the potential for developing current and future sites.

    Ideal Candidate

    • A relevant planning related degree (ideally RTPI accredited).
    • Some planning experience in either the private or public sector is preferable, but not essential.
    • To have a sound understanding of the planning process.
    • To be able to communicate at all levels internally and externally in a professional manner.
    • To be proficient and accurate in all aspects of work.
    • To have a sound understanding and appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety.
    • To be financially aware
    • To be computer literate i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Self-motivated and conscientious
    • Honest and hard working
    • Ability to prioritise activities and manage a busy and demanding role

    This role will be office based in Hertfordshire with regular visits to sites and potential to work from home 1-2 days per week following probation period.
