Spinwell is recruiting for a Technical Lead for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TECHNICAL LEAD
An experienced Database Engineer is required to provide hands-on technical leadership for an agile team within the client, supporting and managing key Database Services.
This role will work closely with the Architecture Steering Group, helping to define and refine best practices, standards, and architectural principles for critical Database Infrastructure.
The focus will be to accelerate client's move from legacy on-prem databases to a new cloud-native solutions. Solid commercial AWS development experience will be a must.A key priority will be the development of shared CDK constructs to be consumed by multiple development teams across the organisation for new and migrated databases.
The constructs will embody practical standards for database architecture and quality, allowing centralised assuranceSKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE TECHNICAL LEAD
Significant commercial experience with the following technology:
- AWS IAM, S3, EC
- Serverless (Lambda)
- Typescript (or modern JavaScript)
- CDK and AWS Development tools including Cloud Formation
- SQL
- RDS and PostgreSQL
- Monitoring solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Kibana)
Significant and demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Making excellent quality software with other people.
- Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context and to focus on delivering value.
- Designing, gaining consensus, and implementing solutions for database infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work with product team stakeholders, delivering value while handling complex dependency requirements.
- Design and implementation of solutions using a servicebased and serverless architecture.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in the Agile delivery models such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
- Cloud database monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes.
- Defining infrastructureascode.
- Testing of disaster recovery procedures.
- Data replication and highavailability technology
