Head of Commercial Strategy


Location:
Central London with option to work remotely 1-2 days per week

Contract:
Full-time


Base Salary:
£65,000 PA + commission


As the Head of Commercial Strategy, you will have ultimate responsibility for all commercial activity across Sport Industry Group including, but not limited to, sales, strategy and marketing.


This is a unique opportunity for someone with the necessary experience and capability to build on the existing Sport Industry Group platform - which includes the premium sport industry event in Europe and help to reshape it into the leading sports business platform in the world.


As such, you will work closely with the Head of Strategy & Communications to develop exciting new properties and revenue streams, and alongside the
CEO on the strategic direction of the company and the execution of SIG properties and products.


This includes maximising revenue from the present portfolio of assets, including the FEVO Sport Industry Awards, in addition to helping shape and deliver the long-term objectives of the SIG business.


Additionally, you will build on your existing network of contacts within the sport industry and serve as one of the public faces of the business by regularly attend industry events.

Youll be expected to proactively develop relationships with target organisations and existing partners, helping to foster new contacts and ensure that all stakeholders are being serviced effectively with a view to driving and upselling partnership renewals.


Were looking for a strategic thinker who has extensive working experience within the sport industry and an acute knowledge of the organisations that inhabit it, in addition to a proven experience of developing and managing a commercial sales team, landing new business and a track record of hitting ambitious sales targets.


Furthermore, you will establish new process that drive efficiencies, encourage best practice within the business and upskill and empower other junior members of the team.


You will be responsible for:

  • Overall revenue of the SIG business and its portfolio of events
  • Shaping the longterm objectives of the wider SIG business
  • Securing new commercial partners and across a range of products
  • Strategic development of the SIG brand, including new properties and products
  • Building relationships with individuals and organisations
  • Acting as one of the public faces of the SIG business
  • Management and upskilling of junior members of the team
  • Developing new processes and encouraging
  • Leading team meetings and driving best practice within the business

You will have:

  • 78 years experience in the sport industry
  • A demonstrable track record of securing new business
  • Ability to build relationships with senior decision makers from prospective partners
  • Knowledge of the sport industry the core sectors, the key players and trending topics
  • Proficiency and an eye for detail when creating sales documents using Word and PowerPoint
  • Right to work in the UK
