Description
Job summary
The Cardiology Research Team manages a range of clinical studies, both observational and interventional, covering various aspects of cardiology. This includes acute coronary syndrome (ACS, trans-catheter valve intervention (TAVI), electrophysiology (EP) and heart failure and inherited cardiac conditions. We collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team (Consultants, Specialist Nurses, and Cardiac Physiologists) and liaise directly with the Wards, Cardiac Catheter Laboratories, Cardiac Outpatients and Cardiac Investigations for referring, screening, and approaching eligible patients for our studies. We recruit patients with various diagnoses including individuals with low-complexity conditions and with no comorbidities such as patients requiring only single percutaneous coronary intervention, but also individuals with high-complexity and life-threatening conditions such as severe left ventricular dysfunction associated with extensive coronary artery disease and poor renal function. Our Cardiology Research Team is proud to give these people the opportunity to receive innovative care by participating in high-quality clinical trials, to improve their quality of life and reduce mortality.
