    Are you a master in acquiring public funding? Do you love to coordinate international consortia? We are expandingour Benelux team with a Deep Tech Public Funding Project Manager to help us acquire public funding and manage the consortia.Your work constitutes an interface between our R&D teams and the academic and industrial partners we collaborate with, and entails identifying public funding streams (national and international), monitoring project implementation, writing and submitting proposals, ensuring compliance with reporting criteria and developing periodical financial and narrative reports as required by the funders.

    Your role

    Your role will include the following:

    • Write EU funding proposals (tenders, grants), lead and manage the preparation of Horizon Europe / Next Generation EU grant proposals and other public-funded calls.
    • Write relevant funding proposals, such as EIC, EIB, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Italy and any other EU country where Axelera AI has a legal entity and lead and manage the finalization of the proposal.
    • Identify and lead any potential initiative of collaboration with universities and research centers.
    • Lead and manage the overall preparation, implementation and reporting of publicly funded projects and ensure that work is delivered on time and at the highest standards.
    • Contribute to developing Axelera AI's funding strategy and identifying new funding opportunities, also through other channels than public funding.
    • Liaise with Axelera AI's researchers to develop project ideas and proposals, coordinate researchers' and partners' contributions to projects, coordinate with Axelera AI's Communication Team for the dissemination of project results (e.g. publications, events).
    • Manage all contractual and financial issues with contracting authorities, partners and experts, verify that expenses are eligible and in line with the budget.
    • Create, foster and maintain good relationships with partners, funding authorities, universities, governments.
    • Maintain necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials used by the R&D Team as well as other Axelera teams.

    Your profile

    • University degree. Master's degree in, engineering, economics, business or political sciences preferable.
    • At least 4-5 years working experience in dealing with EU-funded projects and/or a strong track record in fundraising in the non-profit sector and/or in Europe at companies that have supported an application for e.g. EIC-Accelerator, VLAIO, InnoviatieKrediet etc.
    • Excellent writing skills, including on highly technical and economic subjects.
    • Knowledge of European funding programs and tendering is a plus. Sound knowledge of the European Framework Program for Research (Horizon 2020) contractual and financial rules is desirable.

    · A solid grasp of AI technologies—including hardware, software, and algorithms—is advantageous. Above all, a keen willingness to learn about AI is essential.

    • Excellent organizing and planning skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, project management and risk assessment.
    • Ability to cope with tight deadlines and a large portfolio of opportunities and projects
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills in a multinational context.
    • Discretion in dealing with confidential matters
    • Passionate about technology
    • Excellent communication skills in English: verbal and written; Dutch/Flemish language knowledge is strongly advised, knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.

    Place of work: preferred Eindhoven & Amsterdam (NL), Leuven (BE); remote in Europe and UK is also possible.
