Circa £42k per annum - working shifts five days in seven Would you love to be part of a professional Engineering Team that maintains and repairs a modern and varied fleet of vehicles ?
How about developing your own technical skills on future hybrid and electric whilst mentoring our keen-to-learn apprentices to pass on your existing knowledge?
If that sounds like something you want to be involved in, we'd love to have you on board-and we'll give you all the training and development you need to get to where you want to go

Stagecoach South operates 500 vehicles over eight sites and our Basingstoke and Andover team are looking for people from a background in vehicle mechanical engineering to be part of our growing team.

You may be in a truck/HGV, rail, light commercial or automotive setting at the moment, but fancy a change of vehicle to enhance your skill-set.

Likewise, if you've got PCV experience, you'll still find new opportunities to learn given the variety of modernity of our fleet.

Our Basingstoke depot operates a varied range of vehicles from minibuses up to double deck buses on a daily basis.

We operate Alexander Dennis, Scania, Volvo and Optare vehicles to name a few, and we invest millions in new buses so you'll have some state of the art machines to work on

Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out - and as part of our Engineering Team you'll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that.

It's a really important role within our Depot, so we'll make sure you're as looked after as our vehicles are

Don't worry if you've not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) - we'll train you on everything you need to know, and you'll be supported by a great team of fellow Mechanics, Electricians, Technicians and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

And interestingly it's not all depot-based work - you could well find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won't always be the same four walls you're looking at.

Aside from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there's plenty more we can offer.

Free Travel - for you and your companion on our buses. That means on your days off you can be off shopping for free without worrying about parking the car, or heading off for a day in the city without paying a fortune in petrol or train fares
Great Income & Benefits - competitive rates of pay, plus a good pension scheme to look after you after you've hung up the spanner or multimeter

Promotions - if you're happy sticking as a Mechanic then that's absolutely fine by if you do want to progress we'll support you every step of the way.

So, if you have an engineering background with a vehicular slant (truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm - if it moves, it's good experience for working on our buses) and have a passion for great work with a great team, then we can't wait to receive your application
