This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment until 31 May 2025.
The Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, (CBCD; Birkbeck, Department of Psychological Sciences) are seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to a multisite Simons Foundation funded project investigating sensory biomarkers in pre-school children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
You should have substantial experience working with children with ASD and/or substantial experience using EEG with toddlers. The post will involve recruiting families with a toddler with ASD.
You will schedule families' visits to the CBCD and also administer a testing battery with the toddler. This will be in collaboration with a postdoctoral researcher and the wider the research team. This is a collaborative project between Birkbeck (Prof. Emily Jones) and Kings College London (Dr Nick Puts). The empirical work will be carried out at the CBCD.
In order to be successful you will:
- have a proven track record of working with children with ASD and/or substantial experience using EEG with toddlers. Knowledge of developmental testing and experimental methods is essential.
- You will be proficient in basic software including Excel and SPSS and have the ability to work well with children and parents under research conditions.
Remuneration:
Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £35,374 rising to £40,348 per annum
The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
