    Legal Counsel/DPO

    To support our growth, this Legal Counsel/Data Protection Officer role works within the legal team which is responsible for protecting the business and its reputation. The legal team sits within the Group's Operations Department, and operates between the UK and France.

    The role of Legal Counsel supports all aspects of day to day commercial law, working with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) on a diverse range of legal areas such as corporate, commercial, insurance, marketing and IT; assisting with major projects and co-ordinating actions; attending internal and external meetings with the COO and in-house legal team, managing stakeholders and taking meeting notes where required. The role works closely with our French Paralegal, preparing legal documentation, monitoring changes to government guidelines or regulations and submitting proposals for pertinent changes. The role is also responsible for sharing knowledge and working on combined business projects to support the Once For All business.

    Your day-to-day work will involve the following tasks:

    • Audit all company commercial documents and improve compliance
    • Writing legally compliant business letters, documents and reports
    • Data Security and GDPR compliance
    • Advising management on all commercial contractual issues
    • Analysing and implementing necessary actions to counter any contractual risks
    • Creating and updating model contracts and other legal documents
    • Improving the legal culture by training internal stakeholders in best practice
    • Supporting the companies M&A strategy
    • Fostering a customer-focused culture and delivering a high quality service for key stakeholders, both internal and external
    • Implementing process improvements and best practices
    • Undertaking any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business including general office duties

    What you need to apply.......

    • A degree in Law
    • At least 3 years experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts
    • 1 year PQE is an advantage
    • Robust demonstrable knowledge of legal practices; you will be expected to stay on top of new developments within law, practice, and industry, and can effectively communicate this to the wider business
    • The ability to read, analyse and interpret legal documentation and communicate findings to a non-legal audience
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to naturally build rapport and confidently liaise with colleagues and stakeholders
    • A positive hands-on approach, with exceptional organisational skills
    • Self-motivation and able to effectively able to prioritise and manage own time
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
    • A passion and enthusiasm for your area of expertise
    • Fluent in both English and French & Spanish
