Due to an early retirement within our Eating and Drinking / Complex Special Needs team we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Highly Specialist SLT to join our friendly and supportive team.

At a highly specialist level, to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge children/young people referred with speech, language, communication and eating & drinking problems

To work as a member of the Early Years, Primary and Secondary Teams to provide an efficient, effective and co-ordinated Speech and Language Therapy Service;
To take a lead role for the EDD/CSN team, overseeing the caseload and providing clinical support for team members.


To provide highly specialist assessment, clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of dysphagia, eating and drinking, and complex communication needs in children.

To develop and implement highly specialist speech and language therapy treatment to children with eating and drinking difficulties and complex special needs

To take the delegated lead on the development of team objectives or projects, in liaison with peers;
To participate in the development, maintenance and review of standards for the speech and language therapy treatment of children with EDD/CSN;
To manage a large and complex caseload independently across a number of locations;
To assist in the leadership of appropriate specialist area; children with EDD/CSN;

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.


CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough's only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.


Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.
