We are looking for a Information Governance Administrator to join our East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity for someone with interest in governance.

You will be working as part of a small team assisting the Data Protection Lead to deliver the information governance strategy for the Trust.


The role will be predominately based at our Ipswich site with a combination of being on site and home working.


  • The prime objectives of this role will be to facilitate Freedom of Information Requests on behalf of the Trust in accordance with National and Local policies and procedures whilst complying with the Data Protection Act and the UK General Data Protection Act.
  • Maintain knowledge and a basic understanding of current Information Governance (IG) legislation and standards including, but not limited to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), Data Protection Act 2018 and the National Data Guardian review

  • The postholder will also be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the Information Asset Register and Document Registration database
  • The role will also be responsible for providing a day to day support service and administration by liaising with staff and departments to support the operational needs of the information governance team including performing audits and spot checks
  • The post holder will also undertake general administrative duties for the Information Governance team, to include minute taking, organising meetings, and general office duties
  • Prepare awareness materials for patients including but not limited to the Trust website, leaflets, Posters etc.
  • Assist the IG Lead with collating evidence for the Trust's Data Security and Protection Toolkit
  • Produce regular statistical reports on IG related matters including training compliance, asset register entries and tracking progress of information governance agenda.
