  • The role

    Maternity cover is required for 12 months for our Communications and Engagement Partner role. The position provides a professional internal communications and colleague engagement service to East Midlands Airport, this includes working closely with the business leaders, the Airport People Director, and the People Partners to create and deliver innovative local plans and initiatives using solutions that fit the target audience. You will ensure that these plans are integrated and consistent across all communities and align with the culture, values and strategic themes.

  • Develops and delivers a communications strategy for which supports the delivery of the business plan and other key strategic aims
  • Acts as a business partner to East Midlands Airport, developing an in depth understanding of priorities, building relationships with key figures. Acts as the conduit for the People Team and the wider business on how to embed people interventions, new business processes and initiatives in this area
  • Translates the business strategy and works with the leaders to develop a communication plans which enable colleagues to understand how their contribution supports the achievement of wider business goals including enhancing guest experience
  • Works with the senior leadership team to provide the tools, frameworks and advice to create a regular drumbeat of communications eg all colleague briefings, Teams Lives, Coffee with ., leadership events and Team Briefings
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop communications campaigns to assist leadership in achieving its strategic objectives, including but not limited to change programmes, CSR activities and crisis communications
  • Qualify the impact of all interventions using appropriate evaluation methods, in line with our organisational processes, driving clear Return on Investment
  • Measures and reports on the effectiveness of internal communications messages and channels on an on-going basis and make recommendations to review and amend the strategy as appropriate
  • Ensures consistency with Group and external messaging through close alignment with the Chief of Staff function
  • Produces creative content for a variety of internal marketing and communication materials to ensure that it is clear, consistent and of the highest quality (internal magazine, intranet, website etc.)
  • Ensure all graphic designs comply with the established MAG brand. Brief creative agencies and work closely with them to ensure all elements consistently meet the highest of standards
  • What will make you successful in the role?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express opinions, information and key points of argument clearly
  • Knowledge of and proven track record in communication methodologies
  • Takes initiative and works under own direction
  • Proficient in MS Office suite essential Strong HR / Communications experience, specifically including employee engagement
  • Experience in successfully influencing and managing stakeholder relationships at senior levels and across functions
  • Experience in the successful management and delivery of complex change programmes
  • Highly-motivated, creative individual with strong project management skills who is able to work on their own initiative, deliver to tight deadlines/budgets and build strong working relationships
  • In depth knowledge of effective communications techniques and delivery across the full range of face-to-face, digital (including social media), print and broadcast communication channels
  • Proven ability to identify communications opportunities, provide practical and pro-active guidance and support to address business and operational issues in a customer-facing environment to drive colleague engagement
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for engagement and keeping up-to-date with the latest thinking
  • A commitment to demonstrating high standards of personal integrity and a desire to display the MAG Values in their own working practices as well as encouraging them in others
