    About the role

    The post holder will join UCL Biological Services as a Research Support Technician.
    The post holder will be responsible for overseeing transgenic mouse breeding programmes and the maintenance of experimental animals. The post holder will take responsibility for the everyday organisation of their workload. The successful applicant will work closely with licensees to ensure good husbandry and animal welfare.

    The post holder will be required to work unsociable hours to meet the demands on the service. This may include some weekend working and working outside of normal working hours as well as occasional work at the different sites covered by Biological Services.

    About you

    To do this job you'll need good knowledge of the Animals Scientific Procedures Act and EU Directive E Knowledge of the latest developments in bio-security, transgenic breeding and general animal welfare.

    If you have certificate IAT Qualification(s), experience of presenting training workshops, experience of health and safety issues in a laboratory animal unit, or supervisory or management experience on a local level, then that's great. But if you don't have these things but tick our other boxes, we'd love to hear from you
