    Superb opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor near Leeds to join a highly successful, reputable, and growing organisation where your commitment and achievements will be appreciated and rewarded.

    Operating across multiple branches in the UK, Crouch Waterfall is a forward thinking Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy working on buildings, railway infrastructure, temporary works, bridges and geotechnics. Established since 1981, the business has enjoyed steady growth driven by a committed and highly skilled workforce of 100 employees.

    The Role

    You'll join the new Leeds office, and work with other offices across different projects.

    Reporting to the Office Lead and Technical Project Lead, you will manage a small team of Engineers and Technicians across wide variety of projects. The position requires a candidate who is keen to encompass the scope of our project tasks which covers commercial structures, public sector structures and domestic amongst others.

    The role would suit someone with a background in building surveying, with experience in commercial and industrial structures, with good report writing ability and mentoring of junior engineers. The candidate should have experience in the use of all structural materials.

    Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

    • Taking ownership of own projects and clients
    • Carrying out inspections, site surveys and assessments of structures and preparing reports
    • Providing advice on defect, remediations and costs
    • Managing resourcing of junior Engineers and Technicians for your projects within the team including mentoring, coaching and training
    • Advising junior staff on solutions and supporting other team members on developing solutions
    • Preparing and managing project programmes, workload and resources along with the directors
    • Liaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverables
    • Developing new and existing client relationships through successful project working
    • Approx 40% site inspection based work, within 3 hours from Leeds (some nights away required), 40% WfH, 20% office based

    What will I receive in return?

    As a Senior Building Surveyor, you would receive a salary of £30,000-50,000 dependent on experience and qualifications, including:

    You'll be employed on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week. There is flexibility with start and finish times available however, the core working hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm.

    To be considered for this role you will have the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes;

    • Relevant Building Surveyor Degree
    • Chartered Building Surveyor RICS, or working towards
    • Strong technical knowledge within building inspection of commercial, industrial structures – hotels and swimming pools
    • Experience in all construction materials
    • Considerable project management experience
    • Experience within the UK industry; preferably with Eurocodes
    • Client focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • UK driving licence and own transport
    • Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written English
