    The Role

    As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible in designing and implementation of network and voice technologies, chiefly Aruba LAN/WLAN and Clearpass, Fortigate, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco Nexus, Cisco LAN, Infoblox, and Mitel PBX and VOIP systems. A knowledge of service methodology and principles including service transition is important, and Jira and devops working practices would be beneficial.

    The role will be primarily remote but based around one of our key office locations (Coventry, Manchester or Holborn) as well as home. Travel to sites across the UK will be expected as part of the role as required by the business.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, test and implement connectivity solutions for new business requirements in conjunction with the client's strategic partners
    • Work on our distributed sites to install and commission LAN infrastructure
    • Support major programmes to roll out SDWAN and hosted VOIP solutions nationally as well as design and build networks servicing new depot and office sites
    • Provide third line support to major incidents and Support the product owner with development and enhancement of the connectivity roadmap including refresh, product selection and consolidation via an experimental approach

    Your Profile

    Key skills/knowledge/experience:

    • Aruba switching and wireless LAN including Clearpass and Central
    • Excellent in Fortigate firewalls, proxies, F5 load balancers and Cisco switches
    • Experience with scripting, AI and automation of service processes
    • Experience in BGP, OSPF and routing, DNS and DHCP
    • Practical experience with comms room and network cab builds and cabling
    • Ability to work independently yet cohesively as part of a distributed team using agile methodologies
    • Design experience of network solutions at both site and estate level

    Good to have:

    • AWS and Azure cloud networking, VPCs and transit gateways
    • A thirst for knowledge, self-development and a and team ethos
    • Python, Powershell, API, understanding and ability to work with Active Directory
    • Mitel voice, DCI/NGNs, SIP, VOIP and understanding of telephony
    • A meticulous and conscientious approach
    • Experience with a large retailer including supply chain and logistics and understanding of associated business processes
