Description

Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) is the new brand of Magnox Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith.

NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog.

As a division of NRS, Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

About the role

Key Deliverables

  • Ensure communications are aligned to the company's key messages and strategies
  • Work closely with all functions and projects in the development of key messaging and communications plans
  • Provide specialist advice and support to the site/functional lead teams on communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Manage key stakeholders' expectations
  • Provide advice and guidance on communication issues ensuring that relevant stakeholders receive timely advice/information
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with local and regional journalists and secure positive coverage
  • Communicate and report progress on a regular basis, providing support and expertise in other areas of the business as appropriate
  • The post holder may be required to support the 24/7 press office rota

Qualifications & Experience

  • Business/Marketing/PR/Media qualification
  • HNC/D or equivalent (Essential)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPR (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a communications/public relations/media/marketing environment (Essential)
  • Demonstrated experience of building relationships with a broad range of Stakeholders and Customers (Essential)
  • Experience of designing and delivering public speaking (Essential)
  • Experience of working with a range of multimedia tools (Essential)
  • Awareness of the nuclear power industry and decommissioning environment (Desirable)
  • Project Management experience delivery of communications tools (Desirable)
  • Understanding of Change models and how to support this via communications (Desirable)
Please note this role can be based at the Bristol Hub, Dungeness or Sizewell, and site travel is expected.

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
