    Patient Service Officer Band 3

    This role will include some Saturday working on a rotational basis. 5 days over 7 days including Saturdays

    An exciting opportunity has arisen in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, hub at St Helens site for a motivated and proactive individual to become part of a busy and friendly appointment team. The role can often be varied and complex but with a high level of job satisfaction.

    Main duties of the job

    The role requires the candidate to be a good team player as the successful candidate will be joining a large administration and clerical group with good peer group support. The role will also offer the candidate opportunities to learn new skills within Network Services Division and variety in their day to day activities.

    The post holder will also be responsible for providing a front of house reception service for extremely busy departments. This will include a full appointment booking system and ensuring all reception desks run efficiently. Excellent administration skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of working with patient records and using hospital databases and software is advantageous

    In June 2020, we opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool, our spectacular new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, providing state-of-the-art facilities as part of a £162m investment.     The Patient Services Officer role is a varied role which spans a number of different work areas. The tasks below describe the type of duties appropriate for the role; however, depending on where the postholder is placed, not all of the tasks may be carried out.

    Experience of booking multiple series of appointments as per SOPs and protocols

    To participate in administrative and clerical duties.

    To maintain confidentiality at all times

    To have a knowledge of a range of procedures and appointments across multiple services

    The postholder may undertake duties within a specialist area of the administrative function which supports the patients journey throughout the Trust.

    Ensure an efficient service is provided whilst optimising the use of resources.
