The role
Moonbug, an award-winning double-digit growth media business, is looking for an exceptional Tax Director to join our dynamic finance team

  • As a director in the team, you will have autonomy and the ability to impact the business, ensuring that your hard work and expertise will be recognised and valued
  • This role will lead the tax function across the Moonbug group, from the London HQ office based in London. The role will also involve partnering with the parent company team at Candle Media, based in LA, and partnering with local advisors across several territories.
  • Tax jurisdictions covered by this role currently include the UK, US, Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and Korea.
  • As a vital member of the Finance team, you will be immersed in a diverse range of work including, international tax matters, corporate restructuring, transactions and valuations, management incentive schemes, and more.

Responsibilities
Ensuring Moonbug's tax affairs comply with statutory requirements and managing compliance work efficiently, including global Corporation Tax and VAT / GST compliance

  • Leading group transfer pricing policy design and implementation
  • Tax support across M&A transactions including due diligence
  • Tax support across corporate restructuring projects
  • Supporting the Studios team in claiming Production Tax Credits
  • Becoming the primary contact for group tax issues and ensuring appropriate liaison takes place across departments
  • Identifying and advising on tax planning opportunities and undertaking technical reviews as required
  • Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading
  • Maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and fulfilling professional bodies' CPD requirements

Requirements:


  • Technically proficient, dynamic and motivated tax professional
  • CTA qualified with further accountancy qualifications (STEP, ACA, ACCA, CA) being desirable
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Sound attention to detail with a proactive approach to problemsolving
  • A modern approach to change and flexible ways of working
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate complex ideas (through both written and oral communication) in a pragmatic, commercial and articulate way
  • A team player that takes ownership of projects, uses initiative to resolve problems and works well under pressure, with the ability to adapt to change rapidly
  • A good appreciation of tax legislation/case law and tax technical ability with strong attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a previous industry role is preferred
