Health and Safety (CDM) Advisor:


Job description

  • We're looking for a customer focussed Health and Safety Advisor to join the Health and Safety Team at our awardwinning social housing organisation in our vision to 'helping our communities, live, grow and thrive together'.
  • You will provide support and advice to managers and employees on all areas of H&S compliance. This will range from officebased activities to supporting property improvement projects delivered by our inhouse repairs and maintenance teams and external contractors. You will also conduct internal audits and inspections to review and monitor compliance against the safety management system, create and deliver training, investigate accidents and liaise with enforcement agencies.

The role - What I'll be doing

  • As Health & Safety (CDM) Advisor you will be responsible for:
  • reviewing PCIP's and CCP's from external contractors
- vetting contractors and undertaking periodic compliance checks of contractors
- carrying out site visits audits and inspections of construction sites
- carrying out site visits, audits and inspections of internal teams
- delivering tool box talks and other training
- advising on the management of occupational health related hazards including dust, noise and vibration.
- you will be communicating across all levels of the business, assisting and advising managers and supervisors on their health and safety responsibilities to maintain compliance.


What we're looking for
- experience in providing H&S advice and support within the housing, local government or property/construction sectors
- experience of advising on health-related hazards for example dust / noise or vibration,
- experience of auditing safety management systems based on ISO 45001 principles.
- a professional qualification in health and safety e.g NEBOSH General Certificate or similar and construction / repairs specific qualifications e.g. NEBOSH construction certificate or similar.

  • This role can require visits to active construction sites where PPE including PRE will be required. As such you must be clean shaven when wearing RPE.
