PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT
**Salary £24K - £28K DOE

KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES**Our client has taken a Procurement Assistant who will be in charge of procuring new and in use products for all departments of the company and to regularly review existing suppliers & ensure the company is getting the best terms.

To network and negotiatewith suppliers & contractors for the best commercial terms. Responsible for planning procurement activities to ensure continuous stock availability on site.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Handling Sourcing Enquiries for products requested for internal and externals keyholders covering shortages, tenders, stock lines to ensure competitiveness and maximise profitability
  • Monitoring stock levels, forecasting, planning accurately and correctly assessing needs. Ensuring the company is at no time over or under stocked.
  • Monitor the performance of supplier and products to ensure that they meet the required standards on time delivery, quality, quantity, and agreed costs
  • Proactively look for the most advantageous territories and suppliers to purchase from in a regulatory compliant manner
  • Improve and develop the business relationships with current suppliers as well as sourcing new ones.
  • Working very closely with Sales department to ensure maximum communication on updates regarding deliveries, delays, and price changes
  • Efficient filing of all relevant paperwork to do with deliveries received, for regulatory purposes. Ensuring all required paperwork has been received.
  • Support the management of team risks through KPI's and quarterly review process ensuring compliance with best practice
  • Minimum one years' experience in a procurement related role
  • Experience of managing self in a proactive way
  • General knowledge & Technical skills:
  • Working knowledge of procurement regulations
  • Strong relationship building, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Planning & organising skills
  • GCSE or equivalent level
  • Numerate (GCSE or equivalent level maths)
  • IT Literate

Interpersonal Skills:


  • Ability to selfmanage and prioritise and plan effectively
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to prioritise work
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Team player, service orientated, supportive and innovative.
