    On goingApplication: CV & Supporting StatementMarine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.

    The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective - to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

    We are currently seeking dynamic and motivated Night Supervisors to provide overnight supervision to cadets aged 12-18 attending residential training courses at multiple facilities, working in conjunction with other supervisors.

    RequirementsYou will be experienced at working with young people including positive ways to address challenging behaviour, and you will have experience of delivering fun and safe activities for young people outside of formal training periods.

    You will demonstrate maturity and professionalism, and be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.

    EssentialExperience of working with young peopleKnowledge of positively addressing challenging behaviourAbility to discharge Duty of Care to young peopleHolds a current First Aid CertificateBasic knowledge of relevant health and safety, including assessing risk and COSHHEither a full current UK photo driving licence or UK passportDesirable Experience of a uniformed organisations, or knowledge of Sea Cadet regulationsHolds D1 Endorsement and experienced in driving a minibusHolds current First Aid at Work Certificate or betterHolds full, current UK driving licenceThe successful candidate will be passionate about working with young people and want to put their skills and knowledge in to practice as part of our team.

    Working hours are as determined by the training programme and will be evenings from start of the evening meal until completion of breakfast the following day at which time the cadets will be handed back to course instructors.

    However, the experience of working with our cadets and other young people is rewarding especially if you are interested in and have benefited from youth work.
