    The NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration (NIHR NWL PSRC) is a £2.6m 5-year grant awarded to Imperial College and Imperial College Healthcare Trust (ICHNT) by the National Institute for Health Research. The Centre sits within IGHI and works collaboratively with principal partners including the (ICHNT), and the IGHI Centre for Health Policy. The post holder will be required to work with an interdisciplinary team to enable the unit to conduct high impact research in Patient Safety.

    For the very first time, there is also a network aligning all six national PSRCs to share expertise and meet the aims of strategic goals in patient safety. The NIHR NWL PSRC is one of three co-leads and will be expected to work with each centre to complete our own contributory activity: sharing learning and dissemination, as well as developing best practice Patient and Public involvement/Engagement and equality, diversity and inclusion resources amongst the centres.

    This is an exciting role where you will oversee the management function of PSRC, act as first point of contact for internal matters related to resource, contractual, and finance management and with Centre based researchers and theme leads to ensure projects are managed effectively and deliverables and expenditure are on target.

    As the Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centre. Alongside the Centre Director, you will monitor projects, budgets and report on progress. Your main responsibilities will be targeted around:

  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional experience
  • Experience of managing multiple complex projects or workstreams, and responsibility for oversight of financial, contractual and logistical resources
  • Finance management of complex project budgets including those over £1m
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish good working relationships with a diverse workforce, and champion and promote practices that support equality, diversity and inclusion
  • This is a full time (35h p/w), fixed term contract for one year. You will be based at the St Mary's Campus in Paddington.
