    We're currently offering an exciting role for an IT/Applications Support Analyst to join our friendly Production Management team and work at the heart of one of the world's leading universities. The role involves helping to support a variety of applications and offers a competitive salary of £39,347 – £46,974pa. This role offers a hybrid working pattern, with weekly anchor days worked on-campus in Edinburgh and the rest from home. The team would prefer full-time working hours (35hrs per week), but are committed to offering flexibility, so part-time hours or other flexible working options, i.e. compressed hours or staggered start/finish times, will be considered.

    What the job involves:

  • Providing high quality technical support for corporate applications and working with colleagues and business partners across areas to ensure the smooth running of LIVE systems primarily under Student/Academic services (E.g.: Tribal SITS)
  • Contributing specialist business and technical expertise to project teams ensuring that new IT systems and facilities are introduced successfully with minimal risk to the ongoing operation of university business.

    A bit about you:

  • Proven problem-solving skills ideally backed by considerable professional experience of working in an IT support role.
  • Ability to learn and support a broad range of technologies within a variety of business contexts often working simultaneously on a range of differing problems progressing each based on customer and technical requirements.
  • Confidence and flexibility to work under pressure to deliver effective and high-quality solutions.
  • Proven ability to successfully interact with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in both verbal and written communications.
  • Proven exposure to software development or support in a web environment with RDBMS and ability to learn new technologies and apply new skills effectively in a range of business environments.
  • In depth knowledge of RDBMS such as Oracle or SQLServer, one or more web-based software development tools that includes Python/Django, ColdFusion and related frameworks and exposure to working with SaaS/Cloud integrations.
