JOB OVERVIEW
Midland Structures Ltd are seeking a time-served welder/fabricator to join our growing team.

Commutable to Brierley Hill, you will have hands-on experience working with structural steelwork and will be able to fabricate often complex assemblies by working from technical drawings.

You must have the required level of technical know-how to be able to operate and troubleshoot our industry-leading AGT BeamMaster robotic welder.

JOB TITLE Robotic Welder Operator

LOCATION On-site

JOB TYPE Full-time, permanent

RATE £ £20.00 p/h, subject to experience

HOURS Nights: 20:00 – 06:00, Monday – Thursday (4x 10 hour shifts with paid 30 min. break)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate robotic welder purpose-built for the fabrication of large structural steel components.
• Utilise existing knowledge of fabrication to read from Tekla drawings before using a digital projection tool to mark-up pieces for fabrication.
• Use MIG welding equipment to tack weld into place.
• Adjust and set the automated robotic welder to run the required programme before preparing the next piece for processing.
• Work to critical dimensions and tolerances, often with minimal supervision.
• Problem solve / troubleshoot any issues to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Assist in quality control during manufacturing stage.
• Implement routine machine cleaning & maintenance, focusing on preventive maintenance.
• Load / unload steel (this may require use of an overhead crane & other heavy machinery).
• Manual lifting & manoeuvring of materials.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety & company standards.
• Train new & existing staff on machine operation procedures (as and when required).
• Have a flexible approach to working additional hours (dictated by workload).
